Every night before I go to sleep, I open the journal next to my bed and write down three good things that happened during the day. Sometimes, it’s simply eating ice cream while other days I am able to write about creating a fun memory. I have been doing this for just over a year and it has been a great way to increase my happiness and awareness of self. By reflecting on my day through writing, I easily increase my joy. I am reminded that there is so much good in my life before I go to bed. Writing down your thoughts and causes of joy is a great way to use writing to better your mental well-being.
